About Dressler Stencil
Dressler Stencil Company is a stencil manufacturer and supplier of decorative stencils and stencil accessories. We carry a superior line of laser-cut stencils, stencil brushes, acrylic paints, natural sea sponges, and instructional videos.
Jan Dressler established this business as a home based venture in 1988 using her dining room table for stuffing catalogs and packaging stencils. We now have over 5,000 sq. ft. of mail-order sales and manufacturing space and 15+ customer service oriented employees who work hard to keep everything running smoothly.
We set ourselves apart from other decorative stencil companies in three ways: 1) As trend setters for the stenciling industry, introducing the mural concept in stencil designs and themes from different areas of the world; 2) Excellent products from detailed instruction sheets included with our stencils to our exclusive brushes; 3) And a strong focus on serving customers. New designs are created at least twice a year and our beautiful full color catalog includes a technical reference guide as well as photos of many successful projects by our customers.
Murals are continuing to gain popularity, especially with our mural building instructional video that makes it much easier for the homeowner to tackle large projects. Using many individual elements, you can build a mural to depict a woodland garden, a classical stonewall with Grecian pillars and lush greenery, an enchanted garden with trellis and arbors smothered with romantic plant life and faeries, or even a Moorish palace. The only limit is the imagination. We detail the steps involved in constructing a mural as well as showing some basic faux techniques for creating backgrounds, Trompe L'oeil (realistic) stenciling and shadowing for realism.
While stencils are a very reasonable alternative to traditional wallpaper, they also can be combined with wall coverings. You can actually stencil directly on top of wallpaper to create a very dimensional effect. When combined with faux finishes such as rag rolling, sponging or French Wash, stencils take on a rich custom appearance, that is easy to do and very cost effective. Many of our most popular designs can be coordinated with lots of different fabrics to create a total room concept.
Because stenciling is so user friendly, truly anyone can do it. If you are starting from scratch, our stencils have the best record in the industry for usability and ease of application. Each stencil package includes a color picture of the design, detailed step by step instructions, as well as color charts and brush requirements. Our beginning video illustrates all the basic techniques as well as measuring for borders and helpful hints to make every project successful.
